Executive Protection Driver (Armed) - Contractor
Position Summary and Objective
The Executive Protection Driver will be responsible for protection, driving, and security for executives. We are seeking a highly skilled and discreet Executive Protection Driver with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with C-suite level executives. The ideal candidate will possess advanced driving skills, executive protection training, and a valid New York State firearm permit appropriate for professional armed security duties.
This full-time role involves operating a luxury vehicle while ensuring the safety, security, and confidentiality of the principal during travel to and from business and personal engagements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely transport C-suite executive(s) to scheduled destinations throughout New York City and surrounding areas
Conduct route planning, traffic monitoring, and contingency planning to ensure timely arrivals
Maintain a professional and discreet demeanor at all times
Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each trip
Remain in close proximity to the vehicle and principal when on standby
Coordinate with security teams and administrative staff as needed
Maintain situational awareness and respond effectively to any threats or emergencies
Maintain a clean, mechanically sound, and fully fueled vehicle
Ensure strict confidentiality at all times
Must be able to manage time appropriately

Qualifications and Education
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as an executive protection driver or in a similar role serving high-profile clientele
Prior law enforcement, military, or high-level private security background
Valid New York State driver’s license with a clean driving record
Valid New York State Armed Guard Registration Card (issued by the NYS Department of State)
Possession of a valid New York State Pistol License and authorization to carry a firearm while on duty (must comply with New York Penal Law Article 400 and applicable NYC requirements)
Must have completed all required New York state training for an armed security guard (must provide certificates)
Certification in Executive Protection or close protection (preferred: EP schools such as ESI, EPI, or similar)
Excellent knowledge of New York City and tri-state area roadways
Experience in emergency response
Strong judgment, discretion, and interpersonal communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications:
Tactical/emergency driving course certification (EVOC, SDC, etc.)
CPR/AED and First Aid certificate
Familiarity with secure communications and advanced work
Position Type and Schedule
Full-time (FT)
In-person position located in New York City
Potential to convert to a full-time W2 employee after successfully completing a trial period that consists of working one week at a time
